What is perdition-pbs?

Perdition-PBS is toolkit to provide pop before smtp support. It may be used with any pop server that provides logs that include the connection's source IP address when a user is authenticated. This includes perdition itself. At this stage the sendmail and qmail SMTP servers are supported.

This code is currently experimental, which amongst other things means that it is not documented very well. It may be retrived by checking out the perdition-pbs module from perdition's Mercurial repository.

Note that unlike perdition, perdition-pbs does not require the vanessa_adt libary but does require vanessa_logger, vanessa_socket as well as popt and berkely db.

Other POP/IMAP Before SMTP Support

The Pop-before-smtp project supports perdition. Note that this is not part of the perdition. At the time of writing it supports use with Sendmail and Postfix.
